David Shrigley Mug: Fell Asleep Talking

There’s something enduring about the way David Shrigley approaches humour—unpolished, slightly awkward, and all the more human for it. On these mugs, that tone carries through effortlessly, turning a familiar object into a quiet conversation piece. The illustrations don’t rely on punchlines; they linger, revealing their charm slowly, somewhere between absurdity and observation.

The format stays intentionally straightforward. A classic ceramic build, balanced proportions, and a print that wraps both sides so the artwork remains visible in use or at rest. Even the brightly coloured gift box plays into the same offbeat language, extending the experience beyond the mug itself. It’s practical, yes—but with just enough character to disrupt the everyday.
